Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential areas close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality has a well-developed cultural and association life as well as good conditions for outdoor activities and recreation. The Operations Process unit consists of four operations technicians, two process engineers, one project manager, one environmental and quality engineer, one system administrator, and one unit manager located in office premises at Strävlidens ARV about 3 km north of Stenungsund's center. This means that we are a small group working closely together, making the social aspect important for the group's function.

We are now looking for a project manager in water supply for the Operations Process unit, who wants to help develop the municipality's treatment plants and waterworks for today's and tomorrow's needs.

With us, you will work on long-term investments in essential infrastructure, in close collaboration with colleagues, citizens, and external actors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a project manager in water supply, you will be responsible for municipal investment projects of varying sizes and complexities. One of your main tasks will be to lead an ongoing project for the expansion of the municipality's existing treatment plant, aiming to ensure a sustainable and robust water supply for Stenungsund Municipality. At the same time, the municipality is also investigating the possibility of constructing a new waterworks, a project in which you may eventually become involved.

You will also participate in smaller projects within the Operations Process related to daily water supply operations. The work is conducted according to the municipality's project model and applicable legislation, with responsibility for the projects' timelines, finances, quality, and coordination.

The role involves many contact points and close cooperation with other municipal operations as well as with external actors such as consultants, contractors, authorities, and citizens.

As we are a smaller municipal organization, you will also be involved in practical work with sampling and laboratory activities to ensure safe, clean, and healthy drinking water for the municipality's residents.

As a project manager, you will among other things:

  • Plan, manage, and follow up municipal water supply projects from idea to completed facility
  • Be responsible for the projects' timelines, budgets, quality, and resource allocation
  • Prepare decision-making materials for political and administrative decisions
  • Establish technical request documents and participate in procurements according to LOU/LUF
  • Handle permits and authority contacts
  • Follow up project finances and report to steering groups and management
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure good information to affected residents and other parties
  • Be the project's unifying and driving force throughout the implementation
  • Take samples, perform laboratory work, analyze test results, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant academic education in civil engineering, road and water, construction, environment, or equivalent competence
  • Experience in managing projects with responsibility for time, finances, and quality
  • Good knowledge of contract law and industry standards such as AMA, AB, ABT, and ABK
  • Experience from civil engineering or infrastructure projects, preferably in the public sector
  • Good computer skills and proficiency in the Office suite
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Driving license B

It is an advantage if you have experience in water supply operations, water project planning, risk management, or work in project management systems.
